Lots of construction going on down the Wade Hampton Boulevard corridor. First of all Taylors/Greer has a new jewelry store!
In the North Hampton Market and in the former location of the Tutti Frutti will be opening a Kay Jewelers. Also, the old Papa Murphy’s space looks like it’s getting renovated as well. Not sure what will be going in there.
Down by the Hampton Village area in Taylors is a coming soon sign for the Highway 55 burger location that will be occupying 2 spaces of the new retail space that’s just finished being built. Starbucks is supposedly occupying the last space in that new area.
And it looks like the construction going on in front of the Wade Hampton HS and off WHB is the rumored Lidl grocery store and some other shops. And only a few more days till the newly renovated Aldi’s will be back open in Taylors!
There is also a good bit of construction happening down near the IHOP. That old hotel area is totally cleared out and looks like infrastructure is starting to be laid down for maybe retail or offices? Not sure.
Got this tip from a reader…
Fuddruckers and Starbucks coming soon to Duncan at 290 & 85. Former Denny’s location.
Also, looks like Highway 55 Burgers will be opening up in the new mini-strip mall area at Hampton Village.
Looks like Hwy 55 Burgers and Shakes going next to the new Starbucks.
Happy New Year to everyone! Apologize for the lack of updates over the last couple of weeks. Took some much needed time off and kinda unplugged a bit from the ‘net, etc. Did go out to eat way too much though so there is that… 🙂
Anyways, to start off 2016 wanted to let everyone know that Josey’s Chuck Wagon is now open. Drove by it last night and looked fairly packed.
Wells is upfitting the restaurant to serve the meat and three market and will have a drive-thru to serve takeout. Josey’s Chuck Wagon is a name Wells said came easily. “There was a pastry chef at S&S that told me I had the demeanor of Josey Wales,” Wells said. “We’ve become good friends and Josey has stayed with me.”
The restaurant will be open every day, Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Sunday 11:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
So check them out and report how they are in the comments. You can visit their Facebook page as well and see how what they are serving up.
A few months ago the old Kosta’s Grill shutdown. It looks like that place will not be vacant for too much longer as there is a new restaurant and/or seafood store opening up called Hampton Seafood. I don’t have too many details as I only noticed the new painting on the building and temporary sign that is up.
(not Corona’s but only image I have)
Also, Chop Chop Grill looks like it’s making pretty solid progress. Sign is up and interior work is coming along nicely. No ETA on them opening up either.
The Upstate is quickly becoming a very popular for micro-breweries and such. A new brewery will be opening up in 2016 in the Taylors Mill area (next to Due South Coffee).
The brewery searched for a location for nearly a year and will locate in an 8,000-square-foot space near the Due South Coffee Roasters.
[sic] He said equipment for the space will be ordered in the next few weeks and estimates a spring 2016 opening.
Go check them out on Facebook where they seem to be pretty active.
