The downtown Greenville restaurant expansion continues. A Charleston-based restaurant named Husk will be opening their 3rd location in the West End area of Downtown Greenville.
Husk Restaurant will open its third location (the second is in Nashville) at 722 S. Main St.
James Beard award-winning celebrity chef Sean Brock and David Howard, president of the Neighborhood Dining Group, which includes Husk, are bringing the ingredient-driven Southern cuisine restaurant to Greenville with plans to open this fall.
Brock and Howard said they were attracted to Greenville’s emerging culinary scene. “It’s not quite as mature as Charleston but it’s heading that way and we’d like to be part of that,” said Brock. Howard added that the foot traffic and business climate is “spectacular” and he has visited many times and finds the city “very unique.”
Brock will be responsible for the menu and creative, but a chef de cuisine will be hired for day-to-day operations. Husk is expected to employ approximately 60 people and be open for lunch and dinner.
It’s fantastic to see the West End area of downtown Greenville expand. Looking forward to their opening!
Got a tip from a reader and wanted to share it with everyone:
Hi there, Wanted to share some exciting news that I thought might be of interest. Chicken Salad Chick (CSC), the nation’s only southern inspired, fast casual chicken salad restaurant, will be opening its third Greenville location on Tuesday, April 19 at 15 Garlington Road, Suite 100. This location is owned and operated by long-time franchisee team Michelle Singleton and Julie Beville of Sing Bev Hospitality, LLC and marks the seventh Chicken Salad Chick restaurant in South Carolina. Would love to share this news with your readers!
Thanks Tiffany for the submission!
We posted about the upcoming expansion last year so it’s great to hear that it will be open tomorrow!
Hey Greer folks! All is well for those of us that reside in the Greer area. Culver’s will be opening on May 16 and they are looking to hire about 75 people to staff the restaurant.
Culver’s has set an opening date and has begun hiring for its Greer Restaurant.
Culver’s, a 4,250-square-foot restaurant, is located at 1040 W. Wade Hampton Blvd., next to Aldi. There will be seating for 108 guests and a drive-through for to-go orders with parking for a runner to deliver the completed orders.
One less reason to journey to Woodruff Road once they open up.
We first posted about Culver’s here, here, and here.
Quick update: The digital sign is showing a May 16th for opening day! Woohoo!
Pizza fans rejoice! Sidewall Pizza is now open!
Sidewall Pizza, a popular Travelers Rest eatery known for its eclectic pizzas and unique homemade ice cream flavors, is having a soft opening this evening [WOT note: this was yesterday] at its new Greenville location.
Andy O’ Mara, who owns Sidewall Pizza along with Loren Frant, said the second location will open slowly, similar to how they opened in Travelers Rest. Hours will be limited and increase as staff gets in place. Eventually the Greenville location will be open for lunch and dinner. For the lunch crowd, O’Mara said they plan to add some sandwich items to their menu.
You can check out their hours on their Facebook page and website.
Get your appetites ready! Tucanos Brazilian Grill will be opening for business on April 28! Sounds like they are looking to hire a lot of people as well. You can check out the Greenville website here and see what they’re looking for.
We first posted about Tucanos coming here, here, and here. It’s been a good while since they’ve started this project. Glad to hear it’s finally coming to a close (or open!)
