Coming Soon: Captain D’s (Spartanburg)

If you’ve been wondering what is going on at 1451 W.O. Ezell Blvd in Spartanburg (used to be the location of some older restaurants) then wonder no more! It looks like Captain D’s will be opening up a new restaurant on that location.

According to Carolina Knight

Captain D‘s will officially announce its second Spartanburg County restaurant in several days.

And this article as well

“We’re very excited about Spartanburg,” said Michael Arrowsmith, chief development officer for Captain D’s. “The west-side restaurant will be our first. We’re excited about the Upstate. We think there’s still plenty of room for growth.”

Arrowsmith, who lived in Spartanburg during the 1990s, said the local store at 1451 W.O. Ezell Blvd., could open in November.

Not Coming Soon: Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill (Greenville)

Well, looks like this restaurant is not coming to Greenville. According to Greenville Online the TKILTBAG (how’s that for an acronym) is having some financial difficulties and has pulled out of the opening up here in Greenville.

You can read up on it here. We originally posted about TK’s coming back in the January.

Here’s the info from the article:

Q: Work seems to have stopped on the Toby Keith’s and the Brazilian restaurant at Magnolia Park. What’s going on with these?

Amy in short: I’ve got good news and bad news.

A bit more: Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill has canceled plans to open at Magnolia Park.

“Toby Keith’s is no longer opening any restaurants in this market, so they will not be joining Magnolia Park,” said Christine O’Rourke, marketing director for the development.

Hopefully we’ll see a new restaurant or something launching in this space soon. It’s a great spot.

Good news is that Tucano’s is on tap for work again! Aw yeah! (More details soon!)
