I keep forgetting to post this and was reminded about it today when reading up on a recently closed business thread. Bo Daddy’s BBQ which was conveniently located right next to our office closed down a few months back. Quite sad to see them go but not surprising either. They had fairly good BBQ but the location choice is rough for downtown. It was off the beaten path. There are no other restaurants nearby. The signage wasn’t that good.
Their website still lists their Broad Street location but not sure if they are completely out of business or just catering like they used to do before opening up the restaurant. No news on their closing or current status on their Facebook page either.
Here’s hoping downtown Greenville gets another tasty BBQ joint sometime!
Quick update on the Bass Pro Shops that’s coming to the Upstate. Saw this post by g-man430 on a local forum today:
Ground breaking slated for July. It will look different than any other Bass Pro in the country. Renderings coming soon.
I’m really looking forward to this store. Another great win for the Upstate (and for me the Greer area). We posted about Bass Pro coming back in October so it’s nice to see some traction coming along.
Edit: Good WYFF4 article on the development.
Greer Cook-Out fans rejoice! They are coming to Greer finally!
After a long time of wondering, Cook Out has finally announced that it will start demolition and construction of it’s next Upstate location on Wade Hampton next to Goodwill. Only one drive through instead of the originally planned two.
Here’s the article in Greer Today about the opening and location.
Demolition of two houses and two garages at property fronting 1353 Wade Hampton Blvd., is imminent and the build out of the fast food restaurant typically takes 90 days.
That would put the earliest opening for the $1.17 million, 3,800-square-foot restaurant opening about September.
So good news for Greer for sure. The more restaurants you put in Greer the better it is for those of us that live there.
We previously posted about a Cook-Out opening on Woodruff Road back in November.
A new restaurant has opened up in the Cherrydale area called Dive ‘n’ Boar. It’s in the former Mojo’s location off Poinsett Highway.
Here are a couple of articles about the restaurant and what they are about:
a take on the traditional dive bar, sports bar and gastropub, today in the same Greenville shopping center as their other popular eatery, Southern Culture Kitchen and Bar.
The Dive ‘n’ Boar is located at 2541 N. Pleasantburg Dr. It will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, and for late night dining. For more check out Dvie ‘n’ Boar on Facebook.

Their Facebook page has more info and pictures as well.
And their hours and such:
Got word that Full House Sportzaria is now open in Simpsonville. Here’s the scoop:
That Sportzaria place by Target on Fairview was open last night. Not sure if it was a full opening/soft opening thing.
Looks like it’s a NY style pizza type of place with craft beer and all that yummy pizza.
Their address is:
404 “A” Harrison Bridge Road
Thanks to Adam Tyner for their website link.
