Ah, the ASADA food truck. Such glorious food. Well they’re closing shop and opening shop. Say what? Well, they are opening up a new location on Wade Hampton (next to IHOP and home of the former Haus Edelweiss restaurant). They will be closing shop at their current location in the Village of West Greenville this weekend.
Petti and Cortez plan to open ASADA in a space at 903 Wade Hampton Blvd., where the old Haus Edelweiss once stood. Exactly when ASADA opens in the new space remains to be determined depending on DHEC and alcohol permitting, but the sooner the better for Petit and Cortez.

Ah, for every good news on an opening there’s a closing it seems. Today is the last day for Travinia Italian Kitchen here in Greenville. They’ve been open for about 13 years and calling it quits here in the Upstate for the time being.
“In the past few years we’ve seen a decrease in foot traffic there,” said Ralph Ruocco, the company’s vice president of operations speaking about the location at 1625 Woodruff Rd. “It breaks our hearts but at the end of the day this is a business.”

Been there once way back in the day and enjoyed it but hate the Woodruff Road slog to get to a place to eat.
Thanks to Kelly for the tip!
I noticed this last week when driving home from work and a few folks on City-Data also confirmed it as well. The KFC that is on Wade Hampton Blvd in Taylors is now closed. All signage is gone and interior is empty. So in order to get your KFC fix you’ll have to venture down to Greer (further down WHB by a few miles).
Or petition someone to bring Popeyes in the Upstate or a Golden Chick on WHB.
Well a new coffee shop has opened up in Downtown Greenville called Methodical Coffee. Always awesome to see more locally owned coffee shops opening up. Give them your business if it’s good!
